Larry Gene Bushart, Jr., age 61, and a retired published some comments about Charlie Kirk after he was shot and killed that apparently offended Nick Weems, the Sheriff of Perry County, Tennessee, who arrested Bushart.

The local judge set Bushart's bond at $2 million, which he could not make and he sat in jail for 37 days before the case was dismissed by the Perry County, Tennessee District Attorney's Office or Presiding Judge.

Mr. Bushart filed a lawsuit against the county and Weems claiming that his civil rights had been violated.
Outcome:
Settled for $835,000.
