Rob Treinen joined Feferman & Warren in 2001. He graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1999. Following graduation, he joined Community and Indian Legal Services in Gallup, New Mexico, as a Staff Attorney. He has been quoted in articles about consumer fraud in the National Law Journal, Chicago Tribune, Miami Herald, CBS Marketwatch, Albuquerque Journal, Santa Fe New Mexican and Indian Country Today.

In Mr. Treinen's first trial, he obtained a $350,000 arbitration award against a dishonest mobile home dealer. In 2005, Mr. Treinen's second trial, against an auto dealer, resulted in a jury verdict for $92,000. Mr. Treinen has also obtained an $82,000 judgment from the New Mexico federal district court against an attorney debt collector.

In 2006, Mr Treinen (along with Mr. Feferman) obtained an opinion of national importance in the credit report litigation area. In the opinion, Apodaca v. Discover Financial Services, et al., 417 F.Supp.2d 1220 (D.N.M. 2006) the court held that punitive damages were available against a credit reporting agency where agency's automated system failed to take into account information provided by consumer in mixed file dispute.
