Prior to joining Patterson & Sheridan, John was a member of the IP strategies and transactions group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he conducted substantive patent due diligence, analyzed patent portfolios and wrote formal legal opinions in the context of mergers and acquisition transactions, private equity transactions, and joint venture/development arrangements. John began his legal career as a member of the litigation group at Sullivan & Cromwell, where he focused on patent and related antitrust matters. John has substantial experience working with companies in the graphics processing, 3D computer graphics, software and microprocessor industries. John also works with companies in various MEMS spaces as well as companies in the networking and optical networking industries. John has special expertise in robotics and state-space control systems design and did thesis-related work in these areas at both Polaroid and the Space and Communications Group of Hughes Aircraft Company.''
