Alyx J. Parker is an experienced litigator whose practice primarily focuses in civil litigation (including jury & non-jury trial work), with concentrations in business/commercial matters, personal injury (plaintiff and defense), and mediation. Other areas of practice include disputes concerning contracts, real estate, employment, estate & trust disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, administrative law, guardianship, and also serving as guardian ad litem in court appointments representing minors. Mr. Parker is also a trained and practicing mediator.
Mr. Parker graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (B.A. 1997; M.A. 1998) and Pepperdine University School of Law (J.D. & M.D.R. 2001). Mr. Parker earned a Masters in Dispute Resolution from Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, a top-ranked, nationally recognized dispute resolution program. Mr. Parker has been recognized as a 2015 and 2016 Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers, and, in 2014, was identified by Central Illinois Business Magazine as one of its “40-under-40” for his professional and civic contributions.
Immediately following graduation from Pepperdine University, Mr. Parker served as the Law Clerk to the Hon. Earl S. Hines, in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Texas, Beaumont,
Texas. He subsequently entered private practice in Beaumont, Texas, in the area of civil litigation. In 2006, Mr. Parker returned to Champaign and joined the Law Office of Ansel & Small Ltd., which became Ansel Law Ltd. in 2009. Mr. Parker joined Meyer Capel in Champaign, Illinois on April 1, 2016, where he continues his focus on civil litigation and mediation.
Mr. Parker is a native of the Champaign-Urbana area, having spent his early years around Monticello and White Heath, and later moving into Champaign while attending the University of Illinois High School. Mr. Parker resides in Savoy with his wife and three daughters. Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Parker volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America, Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, and Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity where he has served as its 38th National President. |
