Description: Dr. Helen Schilling, former director of medical services at HealthSouth Houston Rehabilitation Institute claimed that she was fired for refusing to illegally drum up patients for the corporation's Houston rehabilitation. She claimed that HealthSouth was violating state and federal law by when it asked her to keep patients hospitalized when they should have been discharged and admit patients who didn't need treatment.

HealthSouth denied the allegations of illegal conduct and claimed that Schilling was dismissed in 2000 as a cost-cutting measure.
