Exeter Pennsylvania Councilman Joseph Esposito and former councilman John Petrucci sued Exeter police Sgt. Leonard Galli and Trooper Daniel Mimnaugh on a civil rights theory, 42 U.S.C., 1983, for wrongly arrested them for loaning an employee $800 in borough funds in 1998.
Mimnaugh denied wrongdoing.
Outcome: Defendant's verdict in favor of Mimnaugh. Sargent Galli and the borough settled for $175,000 before trial.
