Description: Douglas Stanziano and Renetha Stanziano, individually and on behalf of Leondo Stanziano sued Miami Valley Hospital, Dr. Kendrin E. Van Steenwyk and Contemporary Obstetrics and Gynecology on medical negligence theories claiming that substandard care received by her during the labor and delivery process at the hospital in 2000 caused Leondo to suffer permanent brain damage with, in turn, caused him to develop cerebral palsy. This was a VBAC case.

Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $30.9 million.
