Case Number: Unknown Judge: Unknown Court: Circuit Court, Jefferson County, Kentucky Plaintiff's Attorney: Jack Conway Defendant's Attorney: Carol Browning of Stites & Harbison, PLLC, Louisville, Kentucky Description: Michael Beglin, individually and on behalf of himself, his children and the Estate of Jennifer Beglin sued the University of Louisville Hospital to physicians on a medical neglgience (medical malpractice) for the worngful death of the 40-year-old in 2003. Plaintiff claimed that there was a delay in getting blood when Mrs. Beglin started having problems on the operating room table. Mrs. Beglin suffered brain damage and was in a coma for a number of months before being removed from life support. Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $9 million verdict including about $2 million for loss of earning power and $1.5 million for each of Beglin's two teenage children.
