Frank Lynn Kisto, 60, of Chandler, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Douglas L. Rayes to 30 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release for assaulting a woman on the Gila River Indian Community. Kisto had previously pleaded guilty to domestic assault by a habitual offender.

Kisto assaulted the victim by punching her in the face in January 2017. Kisto was previously convicted of similar assaults against domestic partners in 1999 and 2009 in tribal court on the Gila River Indian Community. Both Kisto and the victim are enrolled members of the Gila River Indian Community.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Gila River Police Department.

Outcome: Defendant was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
