Description: Norman, OK - Robert Stoops and Carol Stoops, individually and as parents of D.S., a minor, sued Mark Roberts as parent of Jonathan Roberts, a minor on an auto negligence theory claiming:

1. This action arises out of an incident that occurred on the August 4, 2014 at West 36th Street, Norman, Oklahoma, Cleveland County, State of Oklahoma.
2. Plaintiff Robert Stoops and Carol Stoops are the parents of Drake Stoops, a minor.

As a result of the incident referred to in Paragraph 1, the minor plaintiff, Drake Stoops was injured requiring medical treatment which resulted in medical expenses for which the Plaintiffs Robert Stoops and Carol Stoops, individually, and as parents of Drake Stoops, a minor, are personally responsible.
4. The Plaintiffs have entered into a settlement agreement with the Defendants, the terms of which areas follows: Mark Roberts, as parent of Jonathan Roberts, a minor, will pay the Plaintiffs Robert Stoops and Carol Stoops, individually, and as parents of Drake Stoops, a minor, the total sum of Ten Thousand Seventy-Seven and no/i 00 Dollars ($10,077.00) in return for Plaintiffs’ agreement to forever release the Defendant from any and all claims arising out of the incident on August 4, 2014.
5. It is specifically understood between the parties to this settlement agreement that the total payment of Ten Thousand Seventy-Seven and no/100 Dollars ($10,077.00) made by or on behalf of Defendants Mark Roberts, as parent of Jonathan Roberts, a minor, is not an admission of liability on the part of said Defendants, but the payment is merely paid in compromise of a disputed claim in order to avoid further litigation.
6. The parties state that the settlement agreement is entered into of their own free will and they believe the settlement to be fair and just.
7. Because the proposed settlement includes the settlement of the claims made on behalf of the minor, Drake Stoops, it is necessary to obtain the Court’s approval of the settlement.

Outcome: Settlement for $10,077.00 approved by the Court. Case Dismissed with prejudice.
