Tulsa, OK - Michael Brown and Estate of Mildred Nadine Stevenson sued Jason Tyler Stansill, M.D. and AHS Oklahoma Physician Group, L.L.C d/b/a Utica Park Clinic on a medical malpractice wrongful death theory claiming that Mildred Nadine Stevenson died as a direct result of not being diagnosed with cancer of the colon for 3.5 years, up to and including July 17, 2011. The working diagnosis was GERD, Asthma and Hypertension.
Plaintiff claimed that Dr. Standsill's care and treatment of Mildred Nadine Stevenson fell below the standard of care and denied the decedent the chance of surviving colon cancer. Plaintiff also claimed that Utica Park Clinic was negligent in hiring, retaining, training and supervising Dr. Stansill.
Outcome: Settled for an undisclosed sum and dismissed with prejudice.
