Description: Tulsa, OK - Granville Montgomery sued Intercontinental Hotels Group Resources, Inc., SJS Hospitality LLC and Ehrhardt Lebanon, LLC on negligence theories claiming that he was a guest in November 2012 at the Condlewood Suites located at 10008 East73rd Street South, Tulsa, Oklahoma when he stepped on a nail that had been left on the floor of his room by a Candlewood employee injuring him. Due to the fact that Plaintiff was diabetic, the wound caused by the nail worsened and eventually, he went into septic shock and was hospitalized. His condition necessitated surgery and part of his foot was amputated, including his small toe. Plaintiff claimed over $200,000 in medical expenses as well as extreme and prolonged physical and mental pain, anguish and suffering.
The defendants generally and specifically denied each and every material allegation made by Plaintiff. In addition, IHGR denied any ownership interest in the hotel.
Outcome: Settled for an undisclosed sum and dismissed with prejudice ast the IHGR and SJS Hospitality.
