Description: Oklahoma City, OK - Robert Reedy sued the Central Oklahoma Transportation & Parking
Authority on an auto negligence governmental tort claim theory under 51 O.S. 151, et seq. claiming:

1. This case arises from an injury suffered by the Plaintiff while a passenger on a Metro Transit Bus operated by the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority, (hereinafter “COTPA”) on or about September 13th, 2013, in the vicinity of the intersection of South Youngs Boulevard and Exchange Avenue in the City of Oklahoma City, County of Oklahoma County.
2. The driver of the COTPA bus operated the vehicle in such a manner as to cause the Plaintiff to fall and strike the floor of the bus resulting in injury to the Plaintiff.
3. The driver of the COTPA bus was an employee of COTPA and driving the COTPA bus within the course and scope of employment with the COTPA at the time of the Plaintiff’s injury.
4. COTPA, a political subdivision, was placed on written notice of the subject motor vehicle accident and Plaintiff’s damages pursuant to the requirements of the Oklahoma Government Tort Claims Act on March 27, 2014.
5. COTPA denied the claim in writing by and through its duly appointed agent,
insurance adjuster Sherry Carder with National American Insurance Company, on
March 31, 2014.
6. The negligent acts and omissions of COTPA are the direct and proximate cause
of the Plaintiff’s fall and injury.
7. Due to Defendant’s negligence, the Plaintiff suffered damages as follows:
(i) Medical expenses incurred and expected to be incurred in the future;
(ii) Physical pain and suffering, past and future;
(iii) Mental and emotional pain and suffering, past and future;
(iv) Permanent impairment, disability and disfigurement;
(v) Other damages to be set forth after discovery.
