Description: Gloria Hoff sued Zimmer Holdings, Inc., David C. Dvorak, James T. Crine, Norman Regional Hospital Authority and Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center - Norman, P.C. on products liability, negligence and breach of warranty theories claiming that she underwent a total hop replacement in November 2007 performed by Dr. Steven Schultz using a prosthetic hip device manufactured and sold by Zimmer, and proprietarily designated as its "Durom Cup" prosthetic acetabulum. The devices were marketed and sold by Zimmer in the regular course of its business.

Subsequently it was determined that the hip prostheses failed and another surgery was required to revise the hip replacement.

Plaintiff claimed that the hip implant device was defective and unreasonably dangerous.

Outcome: Dismissed without prejudice as to Crines and Dvorak and with prejudice as to all other defendants.
