Description: Medical Malpractice - Plaintiffs claimed that Dr. Anthony Czerwinski improperly treated Carmalita Robinson for hyponatremia by giving her 3 percent hypertonic solution at an excessive rate with the result that she developed central pontine myelinolysis which caused brain damage. Mrs. Robinson was left with permanent stroke like symptoms necessitating speech, occupational and physical therapy.

Defendant's denied wrongdoing.

Outcome: Plaintiffs' verdict for $8.5 million including $6.5 million for Carmilita Robinson and $2 million of her husband.
