Comments: Editor's Note: Physician's Liability Insurance Company, the mutual insurance company set up by the Oklahoma Medical Association, which insured Dr. Lewis and about 5,000 other physicians announced recently that it was increasing its premiums significantly because of claims made against by patients in medical malpractice actions. In addition to this case, PLICO insured have been found to have been negligent by three juries in 2003. The awards in those three cases totalled nearly $10 million.
