Description: Tulsa, OK - Man Sentenced To Life In Prison Without Parole For Killing Infant

The States of Oklahoma charged Brandon Wade Nordstedt, age 23, with child abuse murder in vipolation of 21 O.S. 701.7, which provides in part:

"C. A person commits murder in the first degree when the death of a child results from the willful or malicious injuring, torturing, maiming or using of unreasonable force by said person or who shall willfully cause, procure or permit any of said acts to be done upon the child pursuant to Section 843.5 of this title. It is sufficient for the crime of murder in the first degree that the person either willfully tortured or used unreasonable force upon the child or maliciously injured or maimed the child."

The State claimed that Nordstedt killing Emmerson "Emmy" O'Rourke, the 10-month-old daughter of the girlfriend in July of 2015, who died on July 12, 2015 of brain injures caused by blunt force trauma.

Hospital employees testified that they heard Nordstedt say: “I’m so sorry, please fight. I will never hurt you again” and “God forgive me and heal her.”

The child had bruising and swelling above her right eye and multiple tears in her genital area.
