Description: Tulsa, OK - The State of Oklahoma charged Robert Andrew Whitt with first-degree murder in violation of 21 O.S. 701.7 and feloniously point a firearm in violation of 21 O.S. 1289.16 in conjunction with the shooting death of Mark E. Coble on October 11, 2012. Coble was the defendant's ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.

The affidavit filed by the District Attorney stated:

ROBERT ANDREW WfflTT, on or about 10/11/2012, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma and within the jurisdiction of this Court, did commit the crime of MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE, a Felony, by unlawfully, feloniously, and willfully with malice aforethought, without authority of law, effect the death of Mark E. Coble by shooting him then and there and thereby inflicting certain mortal wounds in the body of said Mark E. Coble from which mortal wounds the same Mark E. Coble did languish and die on the 11th day of October, 2012,

ROBERT ANDREW WHITT, on or about 10/11/2012, in Tulsa County, State of Oklahoma and within the jurisdiction of this Court, did commit the crime of FELONIOUSLY POINTING FIREARM, a Felony, by unlawfully, feloniously, and willfully, without lawful cause point a handgun at one Tim Reed for the purpose of threatening and intimidating him and with the unlawful, malicious and felonious intent then and there on the part of said defendant to injure the said Tim Reed physically or by mental or emotional intimidation,

Outcome: Defendant was found guilty with a recommendation that he be sentenced to life in prison. He was found innocent of the feloniously pointing charge.
