Description: Karla Beatty, age 42, sued Dr. David L. Trent on a medical negligence theory (medical malpractice) claiming that Dr. Trent provided substandard care to her and as a direct result on her vision was permanently impaired. Plaintiff underwent eye surgery in 2003 and developed a post surgery staph infection. She claimed that Dr. Trent negligently prescribed an ineffective antibiotics and, as a direct result, the lsot part of her skull and lost enough of her vision that she is permanently disabled.

The defenses asserted by Dr. Trent are not available.

Outcome: Settled for $300,000.00.
