Description: Automobile accident. Plaintiff was a pedestrian in the parking lot of a convenience store when he was hit by Defendant's truck on August 31, 1997. Plaintiff suffered injury to the knee which required surgery 3 months after the accident. Past medical expenses were $7,994.09 and lost wages were $1,817.10. Defendant admitted liability but contested the nature and extent of the damages. Prior to trial Defendant offered the sum of $14,570.00 to settle plaintiff's claims. At trial Plaintiff requested the sum of $60,000.00.

Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $14,000.00.
