Description: Beaumont Texas attorney Glen Morgan sued the Appraisal Review Board of Jefferson County, Texas claiming that he hanger that he leased was exempt from ad valorem taxes and that the county had appraised the property above its its fair market value. Plaintiff claimed that the property had "been appraised at a value greater than it fair cash value and in a manner and amount that is not equal and uniform in comparison to other properties, and, therefore, the property's appraised value is excessive and unlawful."

Outcome: Jury verdict finding the fair cash value of the hanger was $10,752.
