The State of Indiana condemned 2 parcels of real estate, 25 acres of a 35 acre parcel in the Northwest Corner of an Interstate-US Highway interchange, and an 8 acre parcel in the opposite corner. The Northwest corner was unimproved. The 8 acres was adjacent to a Motel 6. The State of Indiana's appraiser valued the real estate at $336,500 9 months before the take, and $437,500 at trial. Defendant's appraiser valued the real estate at $1,678,400.
Outcome: Defendant's verdict for $1,270,600.
