Norman Hamlin, 47, of Utica, New York, pled guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Richard S. Hartunian and Special Agent in Charge Ashan M. Benedict of the New York Field Office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF).

As part of his plea, Hamlin admitted that on February 6, 2016, he possessed and sold a Beretta .22 caliber pistol, manufactured in Maryland, and previously reported stolen from a residence in Vienna, New York. Hamlin was prohibited from possessing the pistol because he has sustained prior felony convictions.

At sentencing on August 10, 2017, Hamlin faces up to 10 years in prison, a $100 special assessment, and up to 3 years of post-imprisonment supervised release.
