Description: Medical Malpractice - Plaintiff's decedent died from the loss of blood after an egg-retrieval procedure performed in preparation for an in vitro fertilization procedure. He woman presented at another doctor's office later in the day complaining of blood loss but was not seen for 90 minutes despite the fact that he was told that she was bleeding and that her blood pressure was dropping and that she was disoriented. She was later admitted to a hospital where it was determined that she had lost three-fourths of her blood volume and where attempts to stem her loss of blood were unsuccessful.

Outcome: Plaintiff verdict for $25 million with a finding that the physician who performed the egg-retrieval procedure was 25% at fault for her death.
