Description: Medical Malpractice - gynecologic laproscopic surgeon - Plaintiff, age 47, presented with abdominal pain and was diagnosed has having a large mass in her pelvic area using ultra sound. A laparoscopic procedure was performed by Dr. Carolyn Shaw and was discharged. Two days later, Plaintiff was rushed back to the hospital with an infection caused by a bowel perforation. Plaintiff claimed that Dr. Shaw was not able to see adequately using a laparoscope and should have converted the procedure to a laparotomy.
