Outcome: DEFENDANT'S CONVICTIONS AND SENTENCES ARE VACATED; REMANDED TO
THE TRIAL COURT FOR A NEW TRIAL. Subsequent to remand, the Caddo County District Attorney's office declined to re-try the defendant and all charges were dropped.

Comments: Editor's Note: According to one article, Caddo Parish's population is 5% of Louisiana's population and files 5% of the State's murder cases but has produced nearly half the death penalty sentences.
