07/27/2018 Minutes of proceedings [non-document] before Judge Sara Lioi. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Om Kakani, Michael Collyer and James Lewis were present. IRS Special Agent Richard Kushan present. Attorneys Tanya Miller, John Mitchell, Randy Klammer, Subodh Chandra, Richard Druker, Patrick Haney, Richard Blake, and Jennifer Armstrong present. Defendants Edward Hills, Sari Alqsous, Yazan Al-Madani, and Tariq Sayegh were present. Jury deliberations continued and concluded. Verdicts announced in court. Verdicts as to defendant Hills: Guilty on counts 1, 2, 8-20, 28, 29, 31-33. Verdicts as to defendant Alqsous: Guilty on counts 1-5, 8, 13, 21-29 and Not Guilty on counts 6, 7, 9-12. Verdicts as to defendant Al-Madani: Guilty on counts 1-4, 6-8, 13, 21-30 and Not Guilty on counts 9-12. Verdicts as to defendant Sayegh: Guilty on counts 3-7. Jury discharged. The Court heard arguments from counsel on the government's oral motion to have the defendants remanded to the custody of the US Marshal. The Court remands all defendants to the custody of the US Marshal pending sentencing. Defendants referred to Probation for preparation of a presentence report.
