Theodore Travis, 27, previously pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm. Travis was prohibited from having a firearm due to previous convictions for aggravated robbery and felonious assault.
U.S. District Judge John Adams sentenced Travis to 90 months in prison.
On August 8, 2014, Travis sold a loaded Ruger 9mm pistol and 17 rounds of ammunition to an undercover agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The firearm in question was reported stolen to Cleveland Police following a robbery in April 2014, according to court documents.
During the crime, Travis asked if the undercover ATF agent was interested in other firearms, such as AK-47s. Travis stated that he was not interested in selling his own AK-47 but would be willing to acquire and sell other firearms to the agent, according to court documents.
