Delta claimed that Ziegler was terminated after she was accused of traveling for free with the airlines while on sick leave. Outcome: The jury returned a verdict for Plaintiff awarding her $150,000 for mental suffering and humiliation, past and future, from her termination, and the sum of $620,000 for loss of wages and benefits to date. The Court further ordered that Plaintiff be reinstated to her previous position at Delta Airlines effective January 25, 2003.
