Case Style: Michael Palko v. City of Edison

Case Number:

Judge: Douglas Wolfson

Court: Superior Court, Middle Sex County, New Jersey

Plaintiff's Attorney: Theodore Campbell

Defendant's Attorney: Eric Harrison

Description: New Brunswick, NJ - Retired Edison police captain Michael Palko sued the township of Edison, the township police chief, Thomas Brya, and other officials with political retaliation and age discrimination claiming that he retired in July 2013 after 35 years on the force because "Chief Bryan was gunning for him."

The Defendants admitted that Palko was transferred several times to different commands, he never lost his rank as captain, nor any of his salary and benefits.

Palko countered that he was treated differently after he supported another candidate for police chief.

Outcome: Defendants' verdict.
