The State of North Dakota charged Lamar Putney with two counts of murder for killing Diandra Lott and Fonzell Washinton in May of 2016.

Defendant pled self-defense claiming that they decedents attempted to rob him.

Putney had a car for sale, which the men claimed they were interested in buying. He claimed that Lott asked about guns and he let Lott and Washington handle them and they attempted to rob him.

Outcome: Not Guilty
