Webster Case Number: Judge: Court: Superior Court, Davidson County, North Carolina Plaintiff's Attorney: Bill Faison, Faison and Gillespie Defendant's Attorney: Scott Stevenson and Stacy Stevenson, Shumaker, Loop and Kendrick Description: Linda Dunn Beck and Donna Beck, individually and on behalf of the Estate of Donald Lynn Beck sued Dr. Earl P. Webster, Dr. Donald Desantis, LexMedical, Inc., Lexington Memorial Hospital and Hospital Medicine Physicians of Davidson County on medical negligence (medical malpractice) wrongful death theories claiming that Beck, age 59, died as a direct result of substandard care. They claimed that Beck entered Lexington Memorial Hospital on June 25, 2007 with complaints of epigastric pain that radiated around to the mid-back. A CT scan revealed the presence of gallstones. He was admitted for removal of his gallbladder surgically. Post operatively, he developed an infection but allegedly did not receive appropriate antibiotics.
