Booker Description: Amanda Dayton, individually and as representative of the Estate of Jill Dayton, Deceased, and Mark Lorenz sued Deputy Thomas Plege and McDonough County Sheriff's Office claiming that Pledge engaged in "willful and wanton conduct" during a high-speed pursuit in September of 2004. Plegde's police car ran into the minivan driven by Dayton. They claimed that all Pledge had to do was call ahead and have the Macomb Police Department catch the SUV that he was chasing when it got to town. Outcome: Defendants' verdict.
