Description: The father of a child sexually assaulted while in foster care sued the Florida Department of Children & Families, Camelot Community Care, Camelot Community Care and Girls and Boys Town of South Florida on negligence theories claiming that the defendants failed to protect his child another child with a history to violence and sexually aggressive behavior. Plaintiff claimed that he warned the defendants about the risk to his child and that the sexual assault had lasting consequences.

Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $5 million against Department of Children & Families only.
