Description: Doug Carl sued Fulton County and former County Manager Thomas Andrews claiming that he was discriminated against in his effort to be promoted the Human Services Directory for the County.

Defendant claimed that it took the action that it did against Carl because he did not interview well and not because he is "White". The County asserted that: "The only reason Mr. Carl alleges that race played a part in the selection process is because the person chosen happened to be an African-American female,” the county attorney’s statement said."

Andrews was reported to have referred to as black marbles and white marbles.

The job was eventually filled by a black female.

Outcome: Plaintiff's verdict for $300,000.00.
