Description: Delray Beach, FL - Jury Finds Defendant Not Guilty In Friend's Death

The State of Florida charged Lontrelle Durham with first-degree felony murder, fleeing and eluding and grand theft auto.

The State claimed that Defendants should be held accountable for the drowning death of DaJuan Peak's at the end of a police chase on November 16, 2016. The Defendant and the Decedent were in a stolen vehicle that hit a police car. At the end of the chase the car crashed through a barrier and ended up in water. DeJuan attempted to further allude arrest by swimming away from police officers. The Defendant was pulled from the water but DeJuan drowned.

Outcome: Defendant was found not guilty on the felony murder charge but guilty on the other charges.
