Robert was born in Havana, Cuba in 1956. In 1957, Samuel Grabb, Robert’s father, moved the family to Miami, Florida so that he could pursue a medical education. Samuel’s plan was to move his family back to Cuba after his three years of study. Circumstances in Cuba changed drastically during those three years and the Grabbs remained in the United States. In 1962, they moved to Tucson, Arizona. Robert attended high school, college, and law school in Tucson, and obtained his Juris Doctorate (law degree) in 1983. Robert’s parents always stressed the importance of education and hard work. Albert Grabb, Robert’s older brother, is now a well-known radiologist in Southern California. Robert’s younger brother, Jimmy, achieved fame in his own right by being ranked as the best tennis doubles player in the world on several occasions and number 23 in singles. Robert chose to become a lawyer. After having worked for several other law firms, Robert decided to open up his own firm. In 1994, Robert Grabb and Nann Durando founded Grabb & Durando. It was their mission to provide quality representation to Tucson accident victims at a discounted rate. Robert believes that “Everyone has an obligation to give back to their community.” By offering lower fees, it allows the victim to keep more of the recovery. Grabb & Durando helped improve Arizona law for injured workers. In Lane vs. Great State Insurance, the Arizona Court of Appeals agreed with the firm’s position that a workers compensation carrier could not add the cost of its independent medical examination to its statutory liens. Robert is a member of the Arizona Bar Association, the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association, is licensed to practice in the Arizona District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Robert truly has a passion for justice and a passion to help accident victims.
