Additional Information: Although he is one of the firm's most experienced litigators, John Linker believes that providing an effective defense in the courtroom is just one of several building blocks of a productive attorney-client relationship. John particularly prides himself on his willingness to respond to the clients' needs, whether that entails meeting with a client on-site at a factory, taking part in union negotiations or delivering a workforce motivation seminar to managers. John considers finding innovative ways to avoid lawsuits an important part of his practice and views litigation only as a last resort when all other approaches have been exhausted.
In addition to litigation prevention, John has concentrated his practice on wrongful terminations, unemployment claims, breach of contract matters, discrimination defense (including race, age, sex and disability), wage and hour issues, and investigations by government agencies such as OFCCP, EEOC and OSHA. John also frequently speaks on labor and employment issues before local and national trade associations.
A native Houstonian, John earned a B.A. in History and Economics at the University of Texas and his J.D. from Mississippi College School of Law. Prior to his arrival at the firm in 1993, John gained valuable litigation experience working at the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
