Additional Information: I grew up in El Dorado Springs, Missouri. After gradating from high school, I joined the United States Air Force where is was a cryptographic computer repairman for four years.
I started my college education at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas while in the military. After being honorably discharged from the service in May of 1965, I enrolled at Southwest Missouri State College where I majored in Economics and minored in Political Science.
During summer vacations during undergraduate school, I worked for the Department of Interior, Bureau of Land Management as a survey aid out of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Upon graduation from Southwest Missouri State College n/k/a Southwest Missouri State University, I worked for a year in Tulsa for Sun Oil Company as a management trainee.
In September 1969, I enrolled in the University of Missouri - Columbia School of Law and graduated in 1972. I passed the Missouri Bar Examine and was licensed to practice law in Missouri on September 22, 1972 and was hired by the Missouri Department of Transportation as a staff lawyer.
In July 1975 I took the Oklahoma Bar Examine and passed it. On March 1, 1976, I was hired by the City of Tulsa and worked in the City's Legal Department until December 31, 1979. Among other things, I prosecuted condemnation cases for the City, handled the legal affairs of the Performing Arts Center and helped create the City ambulance service (EMSA).
On January 1, 1980, I was hired by Jones, Givens, Gotcher, Brett and Bogan. From that time until December 31, 1990, I engaged in the civil litigation practice of law primarily as an insurance defense lawyer but also handling civil litigation of all types.
On January 1, 1991, I left Jones-Givens and established Morlan & Associates. Since that time I have engaged primarily in the private practice of law as a civil litigation trial lawyer and have tried more than 100 jury trials to verdict in the state and federal courts of Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas.
I served on the Oklahoma Bar Association Civil Procedure Committee for approximately 10 years and I have been the chairman of the Oklahoma Bar Association Law Office Management and Technology Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association twice.
I am currently associated with more than 100 lawyers in the practice of law. I am also the Editor & Publisher of MoreLaw.com and I am a principal owner of Beacon 400 LLC d/b/a MoreLaw Suites.
I have written and published numerous legal articles on various subjects.
