| Minor, Jorge D. - Los Angeles, Ca INDEPENDENT MEDICAL EVALUATION The Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) is an examination performed by a physician or other health care provider in order to clarify medico-legal issues. By definition, the physician performing the evaluation is not involved in the care of the injured or disabled person and therefore does not create a physician-patient relationship during the IME.
